Business Voice Political Committee Announces Candidate Training Program
Seeking Applicants, Nominations and Sponsors
Melbourne, FL: Business Voice Political Committee is seeking applications and nominations to attend a two-day candidate training program on October 13th and 14th. This educational opportunity supports the mission of Business Voice to ensure the Space Coast has quality elected leaders who are able to effectively govern and ensure the local and state government help, not hinder, our regional economy.
“Sometimes, the most qualified candidates need encouragement and support to take the first step and run,” states the organization’s Chairman, Larry McIntyre states. “Business Voice Candidate Training Program is a valuable resource for those considering public office.”
The training will cover the three fundamentals of campaigning: Organization, Communications, and Fundraising. Breakout sessions will also offer practical insights on demographics and targeting, as well as assistance drafting, or reviewing, a campaign plan and budget. Participants will hear from experienced political operatives from across the state and be provided valuable resources to further their training.
At the end of the training session, participants and their significant others will have the opportunity to network with the Business Voice network of local donors and activists at a private reception.
Business Voice is a non-partisan organization and participation in the training is open to individuals of all political persuasions. This program would be of benefit to those interested in running for office in 2018, as well as individuals who see public service as something they might consider in the future.
The effort is being led by the group’s own experienced campaign operatives, Kathryn Rudloff, Business Voice Executive Director, and Board Members Dan Pollock and Dawn Mays.
“Too often, the process of running for office is a deterrent for men and women who otherwise have a great deal to offer their community in terms of knowledge and experience,” states Rudloff. “We want to change that.”
There are other organizations who host similar trainings around the state, but this will be the first candidate training hosted here in Brevard in over a decade. Business Voice is excited to partner with area businesses, associations and leadership organizations who recognize the need for this sort of political leadership training and are sponsoring this educational event. “We could not do this alone. This is truly a community event,” states Rudloff.
