Home Builders

Councils & Committees

The HBCA of Brevard provides you and your company with opportunities to network and get education in specific areas of your industry through the various councils and committees they provide. Getting involved with a council and committee also provides you with the opportunity to get more involved and make a real difference in this industry.

Green Building Council

This council will be outlining clear and meaningful principles on which "green" qualification and marketing are based. Contact Lisa Brusca, Director of Finance & Communications at lisa@hbca-brevard.org for more information.

Sales & Marketing Council

This council provides HBCA members the opportunity to hone sales and marketing skills that will enhance your skills in a tough market. The educational seminars and Institute of Residential Marketing designation courses will help build and keep your skills on the cutting edge.  To join this council, you must be a primary, an associate or an affiliate member of HBCA. Dues are $60 per year and include membership in the National (NAHB) Sales & Marketing Council.

Becoming an NSMC member will help you:

* Stay on top of the latest trends through Sales + Marketing Ideas. This bi-monthly magazine features the latest in new home sales and marketing, with how-to articles to help builders make money.
* Tap into valuable resources through the new Sales and Marketing Channel, your online resource constantly updated with the latest sales and marketing information.
* Build your professional skills by earning one of the designations offered through the Institute of Residential Marketing, NSMC's educational arm.
* Be recognized for high sales volume through the Million Dollar Circle Awards or for your excellence and innovation in sales and marketing from The Nationals.
* Make the perfect job match through ProNet Jobs, an online job service for new home sales and marketing professionals.
* And much more!

On the local level, this council produces the SAMTRAM in conjunction with both the Spring and Fall Parades of Homes, as well as the very popular Casino Night in August.  This council is a must for anyone involved in sales of any kind!  Meeting the first Tuesday of each month at 8:30 a.m., with quarterly after hours meetings in different venues, this group of professionals knows what it takes to be successful in their careers. For more information contact Lisa Brusca, Director of Finance & Communications at lisa@hbca-brevard.org

Remodelers Council

Chairperson: Cindy Foley of Home Solution Specialists; Vice Chairperson: Gary Eggers of Sherwin Williams

Some say tough market, others say that it’s a perfect time to remodel a current home. Join the Remodelers Council and learn ways to market your company and learn all the latest practices, products, rules, etc. affecting the buiding industry.

Remodeler's Council meetings are the second Tuesday of each month at noon usually at HBCA, but occasionally off-site. These one hour lunch meetings are usually sponsored by various businesses, so are free to HBCA members who are also members of the Remodelers Council. Remodeler's Council dues are $60  per year for HBCA primary, associate or affilate members and include membership in the Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) as well as the National Home Builders Association (NAHB) Remodelers Councils. The HBCA Remodeler's Council is one of the largest and most active ones in FHBA. For more information, contact shea@hbca-brevard.org or call 321-254-3700, ext 4.

Associates & Trades

The Associates & Trades Council provides strength to our association in many ways.  It is the prime motivator for associate member programming, focusing on the needs of associate members.  It is the source of new program ideas that strengthen the association and the relationships between builders and associates, such as education, political fundraising, advocacy and public service projects, as well as coordinated sponsorship activities.  The Associates & Trades Council of Brevard is instrumental in producing the annual Association Picnic and the annual Table Top Expo.  For more information contact Lisa Brusca, Director of Finance & Communications at lisa@hbca-brevard.org.

Brevard Chapter

Due to the length and size of Brevard County, it isn't always feasible for those who live and work in the north end of the county to participate in activities and meetings in the south end of the county.  Therefore,  a dynamic group of members meet on the second Wednesday of each month in Cocoa, a more central location  for all members of the county.

This meeting hosts informative speakers from various local governmental agencies and educational forums presented by providers and manufacturers of all the latest products and services available to the building industry.
