Government Affairs

The Government Affairs Committee was established to be the voice for the Home Builders & Contractors Association of Brevard on the following issues:

1. Development of uniform, effective and manageable design and engineering requirements.

2. Providing a forum for the exchange of information with building officials.

3. Establish access to elected officials for review of pending and future legislation affecting construction in Brevard County.

4. To work cooperatively with local Chambers of Commerce and Realtor Associations on the following issues of interest:

A. Private property rights

B. Affordability of housing

C. Economic impact of land use regulations

D. Government regulations affecting above issues

Government Affairs Meeting with Andy Anderson - Sept. 15th September 21, 2011Member

Thursday, September 15th, Commissioner Andy Anderson spoke to a number of issues facing us as citizens and members of the building industry. All appreciated his tenacity as a representative of District 5 and our association is supportive of his efforts as he is with ours. Thank you, Commissioner, for your time and hard work. Now it’s up to us to contact our other commissioners and be heard. Plan to attend the next and final budget hearing on September 27th in Viera.
